I’m a Mac and I’m not Four and a Half Years Old

August 29, 2009 · 1 Comment

Every break up is hard, but this one especially so. I feel like we’ve grown up together. When we started out I was a mere seven year old, and you were Dos, with your C://Run. But we’ve grown up now, and we both need different things. No, PC, it wasn’t you, it was me. I needed a computer that DOESN’T crash and get slower with every passing day. And you…well you need someone that doesn’t somehow download viruses onto you without knowing how they did it. So here’s talking to you PC, there’s a new laptop in my life. His name is Mac.

Cos I Been ‘Fraid of Changes

August 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Oh yes it’s serious…I’m quoting Fleetwood Mac.

This year is the year of changes. My life, and that of those around me are changing so radically that they barely resemble what they once were. Now I’ll stop being cryptic and tell you what I mean. I’m leaving Toronto. In a little more than a week I’ll be on the west coast,  trying to get an education that will actually help me get a job. It’s so strange for me to think I won’t be here anymore. I’ve carved out my niche. I’m comfortable here. I’ve finally learnt which way the roads go here and it’s time to go. I think I’ve spent so long in school thinking about how much longer I had to go, I couldn’t see the train for the blinding light at the end of the tunnel.  So school really doesn’t last forever does it? Frightening!

So my days as a non-adult are numbered. There’s only so much longer I can actually go to matinee shows on the weekdays, stay up till 4 on Thursday nights without consequence and take three day weekends for granted. I should really make use of this. Until I figure out how, I think I’ll keep listening to epic music of days gone by and start writing here again just as I should be cutting down the number of distractions in my life!
